Nicotine pouches are small rectangles, about the size of a piece of gum. They contain synthetic or tobacco-derived nicotine and, as mentioned above, come in a variety of flavors.

They are usually sold in cans of 15 to 20 bags and come in varying strengths. For example, one brand sells cans with 3 or 14 mg of nicotine per bag

Are nicotine pouches a better alternative to smoking, vaping and smokeless tobacco?

Because nicotine pouches do not contain tobacco, one might think they are on the lower end of the risk continuum.

For example, if an adult smokes or uses smokeless tobacco, a cigarette pouch may be a better choice because it delivers nicotine rather than tobacco

So for adults it could be a viable alternative to something really harmful
